For Mostly Men: Ho Much Would It Cost To Get A Basement In Our Home?
We live in British Columbia Canada, in a smaller town (Trail)
We live in a 950 ish square foot bunglow. We want to dig out a basement, we plan to hire a excavating company for that (meaning were not digging by hand) Anyways of course when you phone around to construction companies they don’t tell you anything……..it’s very frustrating trying to get our plans in motion. Like how much money we’d need from the bank, and just mainly how much will it ding us????
But we want a full basement, dug and concret, windows, (then there’s lifting the house) oh,,,,,and a side note under us is all sand, so that makes it easier.
Any quesses?

Place your question in home and garden. I’ll give you an answer though. In the U.S. it costs a couple hundred thousand or more to add a basement to a home. It also depends who you get to do the job for you.

Sorry, you have to put in a basement before you put up the house. You can’t build a house without a basement and then put in a basement. Won’t work.
