Does Anyone Know What They Are Excavating At The Two Huge Holes In Columbia, Sc?
I just flew over these, as they are close to the airport. The pits are huge and look to be right next to a river. Wonder if the errosion will cause the river to break through the walls and flood one of these digs?

They are probably constructing a utility line underneath the river. One hole is used to lower a tunnel boring machine while the other is used to raise it up because they can’t go backwards.
